Voice has always been the dominant interface for business communication. Across healthcare, home services, insurance, logistics, and other industries, the phone is still how complex problems get resolved and high-value decisions get made. What changed is that voice is now programmable with two major technical shifts.
- Conversational latency fell below the threshold where speech feels natural
- Real-time audio processing has become affordable
Those two things combined make voice AI a viable replacement for large slices of phone workflows. The capital in this map reflects that transition. Counting only amounts disclosed in US dollars, the 61 companies here raised more than $3.2 billion between August 2024 and February 2026, and the distribution of that capital tells a clear story about where the category stands. Infrastructure is largely funded, and the application layer is now where the action is.
This map covers 64 funding rounds at 61 companies across 8 categories. Each amount links to its source.

A few patterns stand out. Healthcare has more companies here than any other industry, 10 of the 61, which makes sense given the volume of high-stakes phone calls in clinical settings and the regulatory pressure that rewards purpose-built solutions over general tools. Restaurant and QSR drew five dedicated players, and three of them are building for the drive-thru. At the infrastructure layer, four companies raised rounds of $100 million or more to build the voice models, real-time audio pipelines, and developer tooling that application-layer companies build on. AgentVoice is a team that builds on these platforms for businesses, and each client picks which of Vapi, Retell, ElevenLabs, Bland or Synthflow its agent runs on.
